Happy Thanksgiving Week! I have new releases, giveaways, and all kinds of things to share, so let’s get started.

First of all, Murder in San Francisco was published yesterday. This is the eighth book in the bestselling Liz Lucas Cozy Mystery Series, and I have to share a little of the background. My husband was a lawyer before he was elected to the California Legislature. Naturally, he was the head of various legal committees and as such, since it was the beginning of the Iraq and Afghanistan involvements, there were a lot of discussions as to how best to help our people in uniform. One of their biggest concerns was what if something happened to them when they were serving our country and they were unable to have children as a result of it, or even worse, didn’t come back.

Tom drafted a bill which some of his colleagues called “The Dead Dad’s Bill.” It was passed and became law – even was cited by the Supreme Court a year later. Essentially it allowed children born posthumously to veterans to have the same benefits children born prior to their father’s death would have, and it specifically allowed children conceived after the father was deceased to have benefits.

This book is about the unintended consequences of that law. A young woman decides to become pregnant after her millionaire boyfriend is dead. That’s the main premise of the book. I found it fascinating to write, and I hope you’ll find it just as fascinating to read.

As always, it’s at an intro price of 99 cents for a limited time, and if you’re so inclined, would love it if you could leave a review on Amazon. Thanks, and here’s the cover, which I think is one of my designer’s best.

I never want you to spend more than you have to for my books, so I want to let you know that today, Sunday, is the last day to buy the 4th boxed set of the bestselling Cedar Bay Cozy Mysteries with Mike, Kelly, and their dogs. It’s at 99 cents today and here’s the link: getBook.at/CB4

To another subject! I’m asked quite often how people can find out I have a new release if they don’t read the newsletters announcing then. You can follow me on my profile pages on both Bookbub and Amazon. They send out notices to my followers. Here are the links: Bookbub – https://partners.bookbub.com/authors/1787/edit and Amazon – https://www.amazon.com/Dianne-Harman/e/B009PP9DCC/ref=dp_byline_cont_ebooks_1

A veterinarian friend of mine, Dr. Rachele Baker, who is an author as well, decided that just like humans, dogs need a Thanksgiving treat. You can read her recipe for Turkey Pumpkin Apple Dog Treats here: http://rachelebaker.com/dog-treats-recipe-turkey-pumpkin-apple-dog-treats/  By the way, when you go to that link, you can also get a free sneak preview of her book, 7 Simply Ways To Keep Your Dog Healthy. I know your dog will love these treats. Mine sure did!

And you have to love this photo of her dog!

And with all the fun stuff, there are times we need a second opinion for a loved one or even ourselves. I recently ran across this statistic and was amazed: “One in three Americans (100 million) is medically misdiagnosed.” That’s pretty scary.

If you’re concerned that you might be one of the three, here’s a website that might be of help. A friend had positive results, but medicine isn’t an area I’m all that familiar with. Anyway, here’s the site:  https://www.areassuringdiagnosis.com

Have a Happy Thanksgiving. I’m doing the bird and my grandson has already told me a drumstick has his name on it!
